Dustin Sorensen pulls double duty during Gopher State 50 weekend at Deer Creek Speedway

Behind the wheel of both the Super Late Model and USRA Modified, Dustin Sorensen rolled into Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) on Thursday afternoon for the first night of the three-day Gopher State 50.

Dustin picked up a heat race win and started on the front-row of the $10,000-to-win preliminary, but suffered a late flat tire and finished 18th. On Friday night, Sorensen once again started towards the front of the 40-lap prelim, but was caught up in a massive pileup which ended his night early.

On the Modified side of things, Sorensen had much better luck and scored a pair of fourth-place finishes on Thursday and Friday in the 25-lap features.

Saturday's finales were rained out and will not be made up.

Sorensen is currently 11th in the World of Outlaw point standings.
