Dustin Sorensen kicks off World of Outlaws season at Volusia Speedway Park

Surviving a scare on the roadtrip down to Florida, Dustin Sorensen and his team finally made it to Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Friday afternoon after Thursday's season opener for the World of Outlaw Late Models was washed out.

Snagging a runner-up finish in his heat race, Sorensen started 12th in the 40-lap main event and faded to finish 18th. With $20,000 up for grabs the following night, Dustin raced his way into the feature with a last chance showdown victory and recorded a 21st-place outing.
